Get it girl!
But she came out of retirement for her anyway!
In speaking with the Los Angeles Times recently, Amy opened up about how she was able to pull off talking Goldie into coming out of retirement after she stepped away from after in 2002!
Perhaps the funniest thing about the story is that since Kurt Russell‘s wife didn’t know the 35-year-old, Amy thought she came off a bit nuts when she met the actress for the first time saying:
“I met her on an airplane a couple of years ago and told her there’s a movie I really want to make with her. And she was very nice. ‘OK, honey.’ She probably thought I was a psycho. ‘OK, crazy person.'”
Obviously this was a tough task to convince Hawn into coming back as she hadn’t done a flick in 15 years, but Miz Schumer stayed persistent saying:
“I’d meet her at different things, saying, ‘We’re making this movie together,’ and I think, eventually, some people got in her ear and told her I wasn’t crazy, that I make things.”
The blonde beauty was obviously very excited to have landed the veteran actress as she talked a bit about the untitled movie saying:
“[Hawn] plays my mom. My character is supposed to go on this trip South America with a boyfriend. But he breaks up with her. And it’s a nonrefundable ticket and she doesn’t want to drink alone.”
The Emmy award winner went on to explain how the movie is really more a vehicle for the 70-year-old as she dished:
“It’s a Goldie Hawn movie and she’s gorgeous. Goldie … Hawn! I don’t remember the first time I didn’t love her!”
The Trainwreck star also talked a bit about how she and Miz Hawn are similar saying:
“I talk about being an introvert, needing a lot of alone time, needing to recharge a lot. And I’ve been made to feel that that’s a bad quality. In different relationships, people are like, ‘Why do you need time away from the group?’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with me.’ And [Hawn is] like that too. And there’s nothing wrong with us.”
Well while there aren’t any other specifics about the flick, we’re definitely looking forward to it and make sure to stay tuned for more updates on Schumer’s projects!
