Making A Murderer Creators Speak Out About Brendan Dassey’s Overturned Conviction!

It was a big day for Brendan Dassey!

The Making A Murderer subject had been behind bars after detectives seemed to coerce a confession regarding the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach.

But on Friday, a judge overturned Brendan’s controversial conviction, claiming it violated his Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment rights.

Later that same day, the creators of the Netflix docuseries, Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos, opened up about the exciting announcement, saying in a statement:

“Today was a major development for the subjects in our story and this recent news shows the criminal justice system at work.”

They also added:

“As we have done for the past 10 years, we will continue to document the story as it unfolds, and follow it wherever it may lead.”

Soooo does this mean we’ll see Brendan’s overturned conviction play out in the upcoming episodes of the true crime series?! We hope so!

The 26-year-old’s attorney is also ecstatic about the news, saying:

“It has taken a decade but the law is finally bending toward justice in the case of Brendan Dassey├óΓé¼┬ªWe look forward to taking the appropriate next steps to secure Brendan’s release from prison as soon as possible and are thrilled for him.”

What an exciting moment for Brendan!
