So scary!!

Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh, North Carolina has been placed on a lockdown after witnesses on scene told police they heard “five to six” gun shots fired there earlier on Saturday afternoon.

According to local news reports out of Raleigh, multiple eyewitnesses said that someone began firing shots at 2:30 p.m. local time at the mall.

As to be expected, those inside — and out — are scared and shaken, to say the least, though as far as we currently know, no suspects have yet been arrested and nobody has yet been reported wounded or killed inside the mall.

Nevertheless, Raleigh police officers have shut down the area, and those in the parking lot and elsewhere around the mall have taken to social media to report on what’s going on.

That is including one woman (below) who confirmed her family was locked in a store closet for more than an hour, but remained safe:

And there are more on-the-ground reports from Raleigh citizens allegedly inside the mall have been forthcoming (below) the last hour through Twitter:

Ugh — so, so scary.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everybody involved — let’s hope this situation deescalates with no injuries or lives lost, and that officers get a handle on whatever is happening inside the mall.
