Todd Marinovich was arrested Friday night for methamphetamine possession after being spotted walking around naked in Irvine, California.
Irvine Police Commander Mike Hallinan told TMZ cops were called about a naked man on the Venta Spur trail.
It turns out the man was the former Los Angeles Raiders quarterback. Authorities eventually found the NFL alum in a random backyard not far from the walking trail, and he was still completely naked.
Officers also found a brown bag containing meth, marijuana, and the athlete’s ID. Apparently, Todd was cooperative while being arrested.
The 47-year-old was booked for possession of a controlled substance, trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
The California native has since been released from prison.
The sports star has struggled with drugs quite a bit in the past. In 1991, while he was still playing for USC, Todd was arrested for cocaine possession.
And, in 2009, the football player told Esquire that he would use LSD and weed quite a bit during his time in the NFL, explaining that he couldn’t function without marijuana.
We just hope Todd gets the help he needs.
