The conservative political commentator, who was there to roast the Parks and Recreation actor — and plug her new book In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome! — received by far the worst of the heat from the comedians.
The political pundit admitted she had “no idea” why the special turned into a roast of her, but guesses it was because Comedy Central — in her opinion — isn’t funny anymore! She told The Hollywood Reporter:
“It probably has something to do with Comedy Central’s corporate decision to move away from comedy ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ which is paying huge dividends with the Larry Wilmore and Trevor Noah shows.”
Coulter said she didn’t take offense to any of the jokes directed at her — including Manning calling her a horse and British comedian Jimmy Carr telling her to kill herself — but she didn’t find the humor in them either, quipping:
“I’m sure there are lots of funny jokes about people dying. These weren’t those.”
According to Coulter, the best comedy of the night came when she took the mic. Groan.
We can’t wait to hear everyone rip on the Republican when Comedy Central’s Roast of
Ann Coulter Rob Lowe airs September 5 at 10 p.m. EST!
