How mystifying!

Ryan Murphy and the American Horror Story team have done their best to keep the show’s mysterious sixth season under wraps with misleading ads and teasers.

But the biggest hint of the upcoming season’s theme may have just been given away by accident!

On Tuesday, the TV and film review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes briefly listed what might be the official title of season six!

The site listen the sixth season as American Horror Story: The Mist, but swiftly removed it from the show’s page within a few hours:

Hmmm… could this be a serendipitous error from RT, or just more clever marketing to throw us off the scent of the real theme?

While “The Mist” could be reminiscent of the 2007 Stephen King horror film of the same name, it does pair well with some of the more creepy middle-of-nowhere ads the FX horror anthology has been releasing as of late:

Either way, we’re sure this new season will be scary af!
