UPDATE: 9/19 11:32 a.m. EST — Police arrested prime suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami Monday morning after he reportedly shot two officers in Linden, New Jersey. He is currently in custody despite getting shot once himself.

Saturday night, New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood was rocked when a bomb went off and left 29 people injured. What’s even more scary is this occurred shortly after a couple pipe bombs went off in Seaside Park and Elizabeth, New Jersey earlier in the day!

On top of that, there was a second pressure cooker bomb found a couple blocks away from the Chelsea blast following the explosion — and now authorities think they’re linked!

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio addressed the media on Monday regarding new findings saying that “there might have been a common linkage.”

Investigators have looked at the security footage from both attacks and believe the same man potentially shows up in both videos! As a result, police have identified 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami as a suspect and want to bring him in for questioning!

Shortly after Ahmad was named, authorities released a poster of the suspect:

CNN also learned that authorities believe there might be an active terror cell in these two states! While there hasn’t been a whole lot of info released on what this might entail, the cities have beefed up security and law enforcement officers on duty.

After Rahami’s name was released, Mayor de Blasio tweeted:

Before the suspect’s name was released, five people — who were believed to be associated with Rahami — were taken into custody during a traffic stop on the Verrazano Bridge. Though no one has been charged, police are still looking for the 28-year-old.

In regards to the security footage that police reviewed, one video shows a man putting an object in a dumpster near 23rd Street and Sixth Avenue and an explosion follows a bit later. The second vid shows a man leaving some luggage on the sidewalk around 27th Street which contained a pressure cooker with a cell phone and wires attached!

Luckily, the bombs in New Jersey, one of which looked to target the Marine Corps charity run in Seaside Park, did not injury anyone.

The New Jersey Police took to Twitter to share multiple images of Ahmad just incase the suspect has changed his appearance:

Make sure you check back as more details continue to come out regarding this terrible attack!
