The man who was shot during the Charlotte protest has died. The victim has been identified as Justin Carr.
While attending the North Carolina demonstration over the fatal police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, the 26-year-old was shot in the head.
Police spokesman Keith Trietley said in a press release that Justin passed away at a hospital on Thursday.
According to authorities, the Charlotte resident was shot near the Omni Hotel, as protesters scuffled with officers in riot gear.
City officials insist it was not a cop who fired on Justin, and are launching an investigation to try and find the person responsible.
So far, no arrests have been made.
We’re devastated that Justin was taken so soon, and our hearts are with everyone affected by this tragic loss.
