Officer Betty Shelby will be held accountable for the tragic death of Terence Crutcher.

On Thursday, the Tulsa County District Attorney announced they charged Betty with manslaughter in the first-degree following the release of disturbing video from the September 16 incident.

According to DA Steve Kunzweiler, he felt there was enough evidence to charge Shelby with the crime after conducting a thorough investigation. We imagine shooting an unarmed man for no apparent reason played a big factor in the decision…

In a statement to the press, Kunzweiler explained:

“In the matter of the death of Terence Crutcher, I determine that the filing of the felony crime of manslaughter in the first degree against the Tulsa Police officer Betty Shelby is warranted.”

Wow. Considering so many police have been let off in cases like these, it’s a relief to see this case go in the other direction.

We’ll keep you updated as we receive more info.
