The View just wouldn’t be the same without Whoopi Goldberg, but it looks like we might have to prepare ourselves for the actress’ departure!
While visiting The Wendy Williams Show, the talk show panelist discussed her time with the roundtable show, and how there might not be much left.
During Friday’s episode, Wendy Williams brought up Miz Goldberg’s short contract, saying:
“I know you’ve only signed on, according to what we’ve talked about, for one more year. So, in September, when everyone comes back for the new season, you might not be there.”
The comedienne confirmed that there’s a strong possibility she won’t return, replying:
“No, probably not.”
But, it doesn’t appear as though the 60-year-old is leaving because of any bad blood over her jokes.
Instead, it seems like it’s a combination of the New York native’s contract expiring, and her desire to work on other projects, because she explained:
“I have to do it, baby, because I have to go and grow. I’ve got stuff to do. I’ve got movies I need to direct, I got books I gotta finish.”
Plus, Whoopi only has fond memories of her lengthy stint on the show, adding:
“This was great, and I love doing it, but you know, it’s been a while.”
