We’ve been waiting for a stage adaptation of Tina Fey‘s cult comedy Mean Girls for quite some time now.

Over the years, the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt creator has teased she and composer husband Jeff Richmond were making a musical version of the 2004 film, but remained tight-lipped on when we would see Cady Heron & Co. hit Broadway.

Well, now we finally know it won’t be too much longer until the Plastics take the stage!

On Mean Girls Day (October 3) it was officially announced that the Mean Girls musical would have its world premiere in fall 2017 in Washington, D.C.!

The announcement was made on the play’s new verified Twitter account, which shared on Monday:

AH-Mazing!

A rep on behalf of the creators confirmed the news to Playbill, saying the production team is “all really excited and will have a formal announcement with additional information very soon.”

There’s only one word that properly describes this news, and we’ll let Gretchen Wieners tell you what we think:
