Billy Bush Is Lawyering Up To Fight NBC Over His TODAY Job — Get The Scoop!

no title

UPDATE (4:54 P.M. EST): Bush met with NBC execs at a law office on Friday to hash out a deal, and is expected to walk away from the network with a multi-million dollar settlement. Bush’s lawyer told The Hollywood Reporter:

“The parties are negotiating a resolution of their differences at their highest level and I am personally optimistic that the matter will be resolved upon terms satisfactory to both parties.”

Things are about to get messy!

As you know, Billy Bush has had some extra stress to deal with thanks to his involvement with Donald Trump on that heinous leaked tape from 2005 — but Billy won’t let NBC take him down without a fight!

Even though the 45-year-old is “devastated” over the the scandal after being suspended and apologizing, the TODAY host’s network was still going to axe the star as they started negotiating Bush’s exit.

However, The Hollywood Reporter learned that Billy is ready to take the network head on as he recently hired Los Angeles attorney Marshall Grossman — who famously represented Erin Andrews in her HUGE peephole case.

Grossman and Mr. Bush think they have a case too as the attorney explained his client was working for NBCUniversal during the time of taping and was not in a position to challenge the interviewee. Marshall went on to explain:

“If Billy had been passive or responded ‘Shut the f├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ up’ to Trump, Billy would have been out of a job the next day.”

Though B.B. didn’t talk about women or say he too could “grab them by the pussy,” the host did laugh and seemingly encouraged the Republican’s DISGUSTING behavior and comments.

Billy also thinks he has some extra leverage because he told some NBC colleagues about the conversation during the Olympics, so at least someone else knew about it, right?! However, chairman of NBC News Andy Lack and TODAY senior vice president Noah Oppenheim, claim they didn’t know about the tape until earlier this week. Hmmm.

A spokesperson for the network released a statement regarding how they handled the scandal, saying:

“NBC News did exactly what you would expect from a great news organization. As soon as we saw the tape and made the assessment it was undoubtedly newsworthy, we moved quickly and deliberately to get it published and to do so in the most responsible way.”

We’re not exactly sure how this is all going to shake out, but we just hope it’s quick and painless!

A rep for NBC referred THR‘s request for comment on Bush’s lawyer’s statement to a rep for Access Hollywood, who did not immediately respond.
