Azealia Banks isn’t backing down, but that doesn’t mean she wants the police involved!
As you surely know, the 212 rapper has accused Russell Crowe of calling her a racial slur and choking her during an altercation at the Les Miserables star’s Beverly Hills hotel room. However, countless witnesses have since discredited the New York native’s account of what caused her to be kicked out of Crowe’s suite.
“Realistically, to be honest, I really don’t want to. Because I just don’t want this in the media. I want my music out. I just want to f*cking put my music out. I just want my music to shine. I don’t want to be dealing with another episode, another thing, another whatever.”
However, this does NOT mean the 25-year-old thinks she’s in the wrong. On how she’s handling the feud with Russell, A.B. told the mag:
“I’ve got youth and beauty, and he’s got beer belly and jowls! I got music. I got music, and I got youth.”
Uhhh, okay. Not to mention, Azealia also shared some new deets about what sparked the face off with The Nice Guys actor. Apparently, the twosome got into it after the hip hop starlet insulted one of Russell’s friend’s upcoming horror films.
“I don’t know, maybe Russell was supposed to be in that movie. But then Russell turns to me, and he was like, ├óΓé¼╦£Hey, you haven’t done anything in your career, and you’re so young, and you don’t know what you’re talking about. You don’t know what you’re talking about, you haven’t done anything in your career, blah, blah, blah’. I was confused, I’m just like, wait, is he joking, is he serious? But I keep it light, and I’m just like, ├óΓé¼╦£OK, well, you’re not poppin’ anymore. Your best days are behind you, Russell Crowe. Nobody’s checking for Russell Crowe right now.'”
Hmm, very inneresting. In fact, the Ice Princess songstress could even tell she may’ve crossed a line as she noted:
“Like, I could just see him boiling. And he was just trying to, like, figure out how he was going to get me out of here. I even started putting on my shoes at that point.”
Huh. We’re not sure if we’re buying Banks’ story, especially since record producer RZA has SLAMMED her account of what went down.
While the controversial celeb claims she’s done “defending” herself, she has been talking about this incident quite a bit in the press. Also, she still wants an apology from the Australian-raised star. Azealia concluded:
“[Russell] feels that he did nothing wrong, so I’m just like, OK, if you want to pay a bunch of litigators and a bunch of people to apologize to me, then I guess that’s what you want to do. You could apologize to me for free now and make this all go away.”
What do YOU think? Should Russell just apologize to Azealia?
