Madonna & Jay Z Nominated For The Songwriter’s Hall Of Fame — We Guess Lady GaGa Was Wrong About Who Writes Their Own Songs…

Talk about awkward timing!

As you may have heard, on Thursday Lady GaGa threw some shade Madonna‘s way when she suggested that Her Madgesty doesn’t write her own songs or play instruments!

Well coincidentally, the Songwriters Hall decided to release their nominations yesterday and surprise, surprise, The Material Girl made the list along with Jay Z!

Nothing like a clap back you don’t have to take your gloves off for! Ha!

Other artists who made the cut of nominees who could be inducted next year include George Michael, Bryan Adams, Vince Gill, Babyface, Max Martin, Kool & the Gang, Cat Stevens, Sly Stone, Chicago, Gloria Estefan, Jeff Lynne, and David Gates.

There are a slew of non-performing nominees as the Hall also announced potential inductees Kenny Nolan, Randy Goodrum, Tony Macaulay, William “Mickey” Stevenson, Allee Willis, Maury Yeston, and Paul Overstreet.

And let’s not forget about the songwriting duos that were nominated — Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham, and Steve Barri and the late P.F. Sloan could all receive the great honor!

All eligible members have until December 16 to vote for three non-performing songwriters and two performing artists. Then on June 15, 2017, five songwriters, or groups, will be inducted at the ceremony!

Any songwriters are eligible for nomination after writing hit music for AT LEAST 20 years. While Madonna’s been on the scene a bit longer than Jay, this is the rapper’s first year being up for nomination as he dropped his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, in 1996!

We guess that means GaGa still has a few years to go! LOLz!

Who do you think will end up earning the great honor?
