Stranger things have happened!
On Thursday night, Tiger Woods chatted with Stephen Colbert about his relationship with ex-wife Elin Nordegren and how they’ve managed to move forward as “best friends”. The positive interview comes about seven years after Woods was busted for cheating on Elin in what became a wildly publicized scandal.
Now that some years have passed and both parties have dated other people, they’ve been able to develop a genuine friendship despite the odds.
In response to Stephen’s astonishment at the parents’ peaceful ending, Mr. Woods explained:
“It becomes two simple things, OK? We have Sam and we have Charlie. And we love them so much that we are going to whatever it takes to make that work. That’s how it happened.”
Makes total sense! It’s always better to get along for the sake of the kids!
The golf star went on to add:
“She’s been one of my best friends and I’ve talked to her about so many different things and she does the same thing with me back and forth. We communicate so much better now, it’s incredible. I wish we would have done that earlier on, but it’s been incredible to have a best friend like that.”
Wow, what an accomplishment considering Nordegren alleged attacked the athlete with a golf club after his affair was revealed! We guess time does heal all…
