UPDATE 7:01 PM EST: Lil Wayne is backtracking on those controversial comments.

On Wednesday, Weezy apologized for his ignorant rant about the Black Lives Matter movement, but had a pretty bizarre excuse for the upsetting tirade.

The songsmith blamed the whole thing on the Nightline reporter, telling TMZ the journalist got him riled up over questions about his daughter:

“When the reporter began asking me questions about my daughter being labeled a b*tch and a hoe, I got agitated. From there, there was no thought put into her questions and my responses.”

Well, CLEARLY there was no thought put into your responses, Wayne, considering you completely bashed BLM!

But, the artist did tell the outlet he’s sorry for the offensive outburst, adding:

“Apologies to anyone who was offended.”

Lil Wayne is at it again!

Following Wayne’s declaration that racism “doesn’t exist” back in September, he took to Nightline Tuesday night to further express his controversial views.

According to the rapper, the Black Lives Matter movement is something he’s supposedly not aware of and also doesn’t understand. Apparently the mogul doesn’t believe the recent rash of police brutality against black Americans is connected to racism AT ALL.

When the interviewer asked the 34-year-old his opinion on the movement, he responded:

“What is it? What do you mean?”

Sigh.

The entertainer then went on to rant:

“That just sounds weird. I don’t even know why you put a name on it. It’s not a name. It’s not ‘whatever, whatever.’ It’s somebody got shot by a policeman for a f*cked up reason…

I am a young, black, rich motherf*cker. If that don’t let you know that America understand black motherf*ckers matter these days, I don’t know what it is. Don’t come at me with that dumb sh*t, ma’am. My life matter, especially to my b*tches.”

Well, perhaps the star’s wealth keeps him deluded to the racial injustices currently plaguing our nation. It seems Wayne’s bank account protects him from the violence which affects his fans on a daily basis.

As the journalist continued to press the dad of four, he shot back:

“I don’t feel connected to a damn thing that ain’t got nothin’ to do with me. If you do, you crazy as sh*t.”

Damn. It’s clear Wayne is NOT changing his mind on this issue.

Following the interview, Twitter had a field day with his comments. Fans wrote:

Wow… the fans are really going HAM on this gaffe! We wonder if these comments will hurt Wayne’s career longterm…
