On Monday, it was reported that Brangelina had spoken directly with each other in order to settle a custody agreement outside of the temporary one which was implemented by the Department of Child and Family Services. Well, well!
In fact, a rep for the Maleficent actress revealed in a statement:
“…childcare professionals have encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides over a week ago. In accordance with this agreement, the six children will stay in their mother’s custody, and the children will continue therapeutic visits with their father. This has been determined by childcare professionals to be in the children’s best interest.”
Sounds like a big win for Angie, right? Eh, were not entirely sure as a source dished to Entertainment Tonight:
“This is what Brad and Angelina have decided between each other for the children. The agreement is also indefinite, so there is no time frame to it, it is in place until they decide to make a change… This is a good sign, it is the first step. This means one issue is now off the table for them.”
So it seems like this deal is, once again, a temporary one. TBH, we would’ve been shocked if Brad and Angelina had already figured out their custody situation as the Fight Club actor only just filed his response to Miz Jolie’s divorce petition on Friday — where he requested joint custody of their six kiddos.
Not to mention, TMZ is now calling the reports that the former powerhouse couple settled on their custody drama total BS. According to this media site, the Mr. & Mrs. Smith costars simply agreed to extend their temporary arrangement until the DCFS concludes its investigation on the family and the alleged plane incident. We should probably note, the final arrangement will be decided upon by a family court judge.
Here’s hoping this extension means Jolie and Pitt will have a somewhat amicable divorce. Although, we doubt it, as an insider close to the Brangelina Brood quipped:
“Unlike Jolie’s side, Brad’s side is actually attempting to abide by the confidentiality agreement that both parties signed, something Angelina’s side has no interest in doing. From the beginning, Brad only wants to do what’s best for the children, and that’s not fighting this in the public press.”
DANG! Tell us you REALLY feel.
Oh, and the 52-year-old reportedly has no plans to withdraw his petition for shared custody as it “preserves his rights in the future”.
Be sure to ch-ch-check back for more deets on this high profile divorce as it’s still developing!
