The votes from the election nearly two weeks ago are STILL being counted, but this much we know: Hillary Clinton is leading the popular vote by a LOT, and it might be as much as two MILLION votes when they all get counted!!
As of Saturday, with many more votes still set to come in, Clinton has exactly 63,541,056 votes to her name, while The Donald has just 61,864,015 — a vote difference of about 1.4 percent!
Plus, most of the votes still to be counted in the election are coming from California (which has four MILLION uncounted votes remaining) and Washington, two states Clinton won big and should continue to win as the votes come in.
The point being: Clinton is going to end up with a pretty sizable vote lead over Trump when it’s all said and done; a two million vote victory in the popular vote is certainly not an insignificant margin!
Of course, it matters not because of how the Electoral College is set up in America, and The Donald walked away with more than the 270 electoral votes required to be President.
But it does raise an interesting question about whether it’s time to get rid of the Electoral College once and for all, and a massive Clinton popular vote win like this certainly means Trump does NOT have anywhere near a mandate when it comes to implementing his policies.
All of this will only grow stronger as Clinton’s lead continues to grow, too.
After all, when you account for people who didn’t vote, too, only a very small portion of the country really voted for the man.
What do U think, Perezcious readers?!
The more you see Clinton take a commanding popular vote lead, are you frustrated by the Electoral College system?!
