Leah Remini Refuses To Stay Silent About Scientology ‘Abuses’ While Promoting Her New Docuseries To Ellen!

Brave. Honest. Beautiful.

Leah Remini may have gotten her start as an actress, but we think she’ll be more remembered for her work as an activist at this rate!

The former Scientologist has not kept her opinions of the Church quiet ever since she first defected back in 2013 — and she’s only getting more vocal as time goes on.

That’s because in addition to tearing the organization to shreds in her recent memoir Troublemaker, the King of Queens actress is about to go into all out war against her former group in her new reality show Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath!

To promote next week’s premiere, Leah stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday to speak out against the “bullies” that used to control her life.

In fact, the now-Roman Catholic recounted how harsh reactions to her book actually inspired her to make the 8-part docuseries, admitting:

“I was watching high executives, former executives of the Church leaving and speaking out about abuses and things that they’ve experienced while working for the Church, and I saw how the church reacted. I felt I had a responsibility to say, ‘I’m not going to allow you to bully these people who were very brave to come out and tell their stories.’ And that’s from executives. But there are just average parishioners like me who leave and speak out about what they’ve experienced. They lose their family. The Church goes after their family to shun their family, oftentimes. I’m very lucky that that didn’t happen to me. My family chose me.

But again, my story pales in comparison to what happened to other people, how people are bullied into silence. We don’t have $3 billion to protect ourselves, right? So, what I have is I’m an actress, and I’m able to speak, and I’m able to give a voice to people who might not have an Ellen to go on. For that, I feel lucky and I feel blessed. That’s kind of what my path is right now.”

We couldn’t be more proud, Leah!

Although, strictly gossip speaking… we have a feeling she’s about to share much more than even we’re expecting.
