UPDATE 11:24 A.M. EST: The Columbus Department of Public Safety has confirmed police killed one suspect. It is unclear whether authorities are still looking for other suspects, but locals have been advised to remain on lockdown.
At least eight have been reported injured in the attack, four by gunshot, one in critical condition.
Early Monday morning, college students at Ohio State University were put on high alert when the campus police department sent out a tweet, stating:

Sadly, CNN reports that at least seven people have been transported to a local hospital, though there is no information on the severity of the injuries.
Authorities have not released any details regarding the situation but are telling everyone to stay put and avoid College Road north.
Police have not released an official statement, but sophomore Wyatt Crosher talked to CNN about hearing gunshots:
“My roommate and I heard about three or four gunshots from across the street, and soon after we heard a bunch of police and ambulances pull up across the street.”
The 19-year-old continued:
“We can’t see the building where the shooting happened because of a dorm blocking our view. It truly sounded like gunshots, and really soon after we heard a bunch of sirens. We can see the police cars from our dorm.”
We just hope everyone remains as safe as possible during this horrifying ordeal.
Make sure to stay tuned as we stay on top of this developing story…
