Well, why not make it an even 20?
According to the legal papers, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have been granted permanent custody of their young nephew, Tyler Wayne Hutchins.
The reality stars were initially given temporary guardianship back in August, when they filed an emergency petition claiming the eight-year-old’s mother, Rachel Hutchins, was unfit to raise him.
The newly-obtained court docs reveal that guardianship officially became permanent on November 21.
The famous family’s attorney, Travis Story, said in the papers that the 23-year-old mother is unemployed, has no form of transportation, and is on probation.
And, he argued that she “recently exhibited a pattern of behavior demonstrating that she is presently unable to meet Tyler’s health, safety, and other needs.”
Rachel signed over full custody to The Duggars, and agreed that visits with her little boy would be supervised.
