We got action, people!
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have finally signed their divorce settlement papers — and the 53-year-old is expected to pay the remaining $6.8 million in installments to his former love within the next 12 months.
In turn, Miz Heard will reportedly fulfill her promise to donate the money as she receives it to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the domestic violence chapter of the ACLU by the end of 2018.
As you know, the settlement was stalled back in August when Depp paid $200,000 to the charities on his own — out of the agreed $7 million he owes to Amber.
According to TMZ, sources “not connected with Amber” don’t think the organizations will actually see the promised donation… while Amber’s side argues the actor shouldn’t receive the charitable tax write-off for what’s technically her money.
The outlet reports Depp will get to write-off the already-paid $200K and Amber will get to do the same with whatever she ends up donating from the money she was awarded in the settlement — plus the $350K she gave to ACLU back in August out of her own pocket.
Anyway, we’re happy to hear this is finally sorted out, and hopefully these two can put this messy nightmare behind them.
