Women in the entertainment industry are in a lose-lose situation!
On Thursday, Hilary Duff stopped by The Talk and revealed she was “pigeonholed” in Hollywood after having her son Luca “too soon”. This candid conversation came after the former Disney darling praised Jennifer Aniston who recently called out society’s view that women are “useless” if they don’t have a conventional family life!
The Friends alum’s words clearly resonated with the 29-year-old as she shared:
“She is such a beautiful role model, and a smart woman to have the courage to say these things in Hollywood. I feel like I was judged for having a baby too soon, and getting married too soon and now, I’m pigeonholed for being a ├óΓé¼╦£mom.’ Lots of women in the industry that don’t have a child yet are judged.”
Well said! As you surely know, Hil gave birth to her son with ex Mike Comrie when she was only 24 years old. She continued:
“We are the most in demand and the most desirable, but the most judged and the hardest on one another. It’s so much scrutiny.”
You tell ’em, girl! Miz Duff didn’t stop there as she highlighted how men never face the same type of unwanted scrutiny. The Younger star concluded:
“Nobody cares about men’s personal lives as much as women.”
It’s sad, but true. Be sure to ch-ch-check out Hilary’s wise words for yourself (below)!
