Many Americans found themselves tossing and turning on election night, but Michelle Obama apparently wasn’t one of them.

While most of the country was waiting until the wee hours of the morning on November 9 to find out who would become the next president, the First Lady revealed she was sound asleep in her White House bed!

In a joint interview with President Barack Obama out Wednesday, FLOTUS broke her silence on President-elect Donald Trump‘s stunning upset, and revealed why she went to bed early on election night.

Speaking to People, she recalled:

“I went to bed. I don’t like to watch the political discourse; I never have├óΓé¼┬ª I barely did with [Barack].”

The mother-of-two was one of Hillary Clinton‘s most influential supporters on the campaign trail, delivering passionate speeches about the dangers of electing Trump.

Though once election night came, Michelle considered her job done with the power officially in the hands of the voters.

She continued:

“Anything that I felt about the election I said and I stand by. Once you do what you can do, then the rest is easy. It was in the hands of the American people.”

While her opinion on the President-elect hasn’t changed since the campaign, she, like her husband, is prepared to help the incoming POTUS as he transitions to the White House, adding:

“This is our democracy, and this is how it works. We are ready to work with the next administration and make sure they are as successful as they can be. Because that’s what’s best for this country.”

Sounds like the First Lady plans on sticking with her now-famous mantra, “when they go low, we go high!”

Man, are we gonna miss this woman when Ivanka Melania Trump replaces her as First Lady next month.
