What a disgusting incident.

According to Alabama resident Kimberly Houzah, she was kicked out her local mall’s Victoria’s Secret after a black shopper was caught shoplifting.

Per Kimberly’s Facebook Live video, the store’s manager asked her and another innocent black customer to leave for NO REASON following the theft. It’s only fair to assume the manager grouped all of the women together, which is an incredibly racist move.

In the vid, Houzah breaks down in tears after she realizes she’s being racially profiled. It’s truly heartbreaking to watch, especially when you consider the rise in racist incidents over the past few years.

The (former) customer explained:

“I don’t feel like everybody racist. But I’m just trying to understand why, ’cause we just happened to be three black women in Victoria’s Secret ├óΓé¼┬ª that we gotta be together.”

Wow… there truly are no words for this offensive act.

Elaborating on her trauma to CNN affiliate WIAT, the shopper explained:

“I never gave her a reason to think that I was stealing. It’s completely unacceptable, because nobody else was asked to leave the store.”

Yuck.

Following Kimberly’s story going viral, Victoria’s Secret issued the following apology:

“We take the experience of our customer at the Quintard Mall very seriously and have reached out to her directly to express our sincere apology. What happened at our store should not have happened and does not represent who we are or what we stand for. The store associate involved in this matter is no longer employed with the company. Victoria’s Secret is adamant that all customers regardless of race be treated with dignity and respect at all times.”

Well, we’re glad the company decided to let the employee in question go. She has no place in customer service!

In addition to the firing of the employee, the NAACP organized a protest against the offending store. It’s nice to hear the woman has all this support given her hurtful ordeal.

So, what do YOU think of this incident?
