Viola Davis Is Honored With The Feminist #SeeHer Award At The Critics’ Choice Awards — ‘The Privilege Of A Lifetime Is Being Who You Are’

We can’t think of a more deserving actress!

On Sunday, the talented and inspirational Viola Davis was honored with the #SeeHer Award, a prize designed to highlight women dedicated to “advancing the movement to accurately portray women and girls in media”. The honor comes on the heels of the 51-year-old’s successful career in television and female-centric charity work.

Well, it sounds like the Critics’ Choice Awards were right on the money. Ms. Davis has always been a role model for women and girls who wish to excel on talent and authenticity rather than their looks!

In the actress’ acceptance speech, she poked fun at herself for trying to lose weight when she was first started out. Sadly, it’s an all too common story.

After a lot of soul searching and confidence building, Viola finally came to a realization about her self-worth, revealing:

“… then I asked myself why do I have to do all that? The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are. I recently embraced that at fifty-one.”

Well said, girl! Your beautiful soul shines in all you do!

So, what did YOU think of the celeb’s speech?
