On Monday, the 52-year-old met with young patients and their families at the Children’s National Health System in Washington, D.C. — a First Lady tradition since Bess Truman made her holiday visit to the hospital in the 1940s.
Joined by Ryan Seacrest and her dogs Bo and Sunny, Obama read stories to children — including ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas — and even answered some holiday-related questions!
When asked about her favorite winter activity, the First Lady revealed she loves to ski, telling the crowd of children:
“When I’m skiing, that’s, like, one of the few places in the winter where I feel free. Because nobody can take a selfie with you when you’re skiing down a mountain, no matter how. Some are really good, but they generally can’t whip out the phone and catch you when you’re going down. So skiing for me is like golfing to the President.”
Now we know where we’ll find FLOTUS after Donald Trump‘s inauguration in January!
Another child asked if the first dogs, Bo and Sunny, were on the naughty or nice list this year — to which she replied:
“They were very nice. You see how patient they are. And I told you, they are excellent ambassadors. They are very good. And Sunny has stopped running to the end of the hall and pooping. She hasn’t done that all year. That was a naughty thing she was doing for a couple of years.”
We have a feeling everyone’s on the nice list in an Obama White House — but the next administration is a whole other story…
Ch-ch-check out the event photos (below) to see FLOTUS making spirits merry and bright!
