As you might remember, Barack won the 2008 presidential election on the platform of hope. It’s a legacy and sentiment which has lasted throughout his eight years in office.

When Ms. Winfrey asked Michelle if her husband fulfilled his message of hope, she responded:

“Yes, I do. Because we feel the difference now. See, now we’re feeling what not having hope feels like, you know? Hope is necessary. It’s a necessary concept. And Barack didn’t just talk about hope because he thought was just a nice slogan to get votes. He and I and so many believe that what else do you have if you don’t have hope? What do you give your kids if you can’t give them hope?”

FLOTUS added:

“I feel Barack has been that for the nation in ways that people will come to appreciate. Having a grown-up in the White House who can say to you in times of crisis and turmoil, ├óΓé¼╦£Hey, it’s going to be okay. Let’s remember the good things that we have’.”

Yeah, we’ll definitely miss having a grown-up as our president. Toddler Drumpf just won’t cut it

The interview will air on December 21 via CBS.
