James Franco Admits He’s Been ‘Pretty Bad In The Romance Department’

James Franco

James Franco admits he’s been lacking in the “romance department.”

In the 38-year-old’s new film alongside Bryan Cranston called Why Him?, James plays an eccentric Silicon Valley billionaire who has to try to win over his girlfriend’s uptight father.

Speaking to ET at the premiere for the movie in El Lay over the weekend, the Spring Breakers star admitted he hasn’t always been a hit with the parents of people he’s dating.

Franco shared:

“No fathers have disliked me like Brian’s character dislikes me in this movie [but] there’s been a mother or two that just didn’t like me. I remember being very young and throwing pebbles at somebody’s window and the mother coming out and treating me like a bum — ‘Get out of here, you scum!'”

But, James reveals he hasn’t been throwing pebbles at anyone’s window lately:

“I’ve been pretty bad in the romance department. I think I’m a caring guy, but the grand gestures I’m not great at. I need to put more work into it.”

Maybe he just hasn’t found the right person yet! Hint, hint, nudge, nudge!

Get on it, Perezcious readers!
