UPDATE 5:53 PM EST: TMZ claims paramedics worked on Carrie for fifteen minutes before they were able to find a pulse. The star is currently breathing with the assistance of a ventilator.
The Los Angeles Fire Department also released the following statement:
“LAFD responded to LAX International Airport, Gate 74, for a patient on an inbound flight in Cardiac Arrest. LAFD Firefighter Paramedics were standing by for the plane’s arrival, provided Advanced Life Support and aggressively treated and transported the patient to a local hospital.”
According to TMZ, Carrie Fisher, 60, suffered a massive heart attack while aboard a plane traveling from London to LAX on Friday. The awful health event occurred just fifteen minutes before the aircraft landed in Los Angeles.
Luckily for Fisher, an EMT was aboard the plane and the helpful passenger administered life-saving measures to the actress.
The star is currently at a hospital in LA. We’ll keep you updated as we receive info about her condition.
