After weeks of only being seen in the wilderness taking random selfies with supporters, the former presidential candidate resurfaced on social media to reflect on the exhausting election season in a moving end-of-year note.
On Monday, HRC took to Facebook to once again thank her supporters, writing:
“Before this year ends, I want to thank you again for your support of our campaign. While we didn’t achieve the outcome we sought, I’m proud of the vision and values we fought for and the nearly 66 million people who voted for them.”
Surely, that’s a not-so-subtle dig to winning the popular vote by almost 3 million!
The 69-year-old also encouraged her supporters to stay active in the political community despite the disheartening outcome of the election, continuing:
“I believe it is our responsibility to keep doing our part to build a better, stronger and fairer future for our country and the world. The holidays are a time to be thankful for our blessings. So let us rejoice in this season and look forward with renewed hope and determination.”
That’s a bit hard to do knowing Trump’s wacky administration of fat cats and oil barons is coming straight out of a 1920’s political cartoon — but we see her point!
The former secretary of state ended her message on an uplifting note, concluding:
“I wish you and your family health, happiness and continued strength for the New Year and the work ahead. I look forward to staying in touch in 2017. Onward!”
Glad to know she’s not ghosting us — we need her now more than ever!
