But Rob Delaney, co-creator and star of Catastrophe, wanted to honor his costar in his own way — with a HIGHlarious sendoff about his failed seduction!
The writer/actor started off by writing:
“Yes, I knew Carrie Fisher. She played my mom on Catastrophe, the sitcom I write and star in with Sharon Horgan. Or should I say, ‘plays my mom,’ since we just finished shooting last week and Carrie’s scenes haven’t been seen by anyone yet… We’ve seen them and they’re amazing.
Mr. Delaney even teased that Carrie’s “a bigger part of series three than she was of the first two” because she was so brilliant.
Then he took things a more personal direction, remembering:
“I spent my teenage years fantasising about a shiny-lipped Carrie Fisher trying to murder me and my fugitive brother one day ├óΓé¼┬ª So naturally I tried to seduce Carrie when we finally did work together, especially after Variety called me ‘the poor man’s Harrison Ford, who is also fat’. I’d like to report that I was successful, but despite my begging her on many occasions, we never had sex, even though our onscreen mother/son chemistry was off the charts. We made her and Adam Driver’s sterile scenes in The Force Awakens look like bank transactions.”
Rob concluded by sharing his love for the actress, saying:
“What I’m getting at here is that I revered Carrie until I met her and then I loved her. I’m smiling thinking about her. I hope you are too.”

Sharon Horgan, Rob and Carrie’s other main costar and fellow writer on the Channel 4/Amazon series, also paid tribute to the late actress on Instagram as she shared:
Carrie was my friend. It took me three series but I got her in the end. She was the most generous, fun, gifted, smart, kind, funny funny funny person I’ve ever met. She certainly wasn’t ready to go. I’m so glad we became pals. I’m so devastated at her loss. I want to write about her more but I can’t process yet.A photo posted by Sharon Horgan (@sharonhorgan) on Dec 27, 2016 at 10:42am PST
