Scenic waterfall proposals: great for photos, not so great for slippery hands.
One groom-to-be learned that the hard way when he got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend in Cunningham Falls State Park in Thurmont, Maryland — and stood a bit too close to the rushing water!
In the video, Isaiah Adams surprised his girlfriend Grace with the woodsy proposal, to which she excitedly accepted.
But when he went to hand her the ring, the couple fumbled the tiny object right into the water, where it quickly drifted off into the wilderness.
The soon-to-be bride couldn’t believe what happened. She told Inside Edition:
“I was crying with happiness but then I was crying with fear at the same time. I looked up and his face was just shock.”
At least it makes for a good story! And who knows… maybe some thrifty raccoon stumbles upon the ring and pops the question to his woodland significant other?
Though the couple never found the ring, they still plan on getting married — so, you know they’re in it for the long fall.
Sorry, haul! Ha!
