Bethenny Frankel‘s legal troubles are far from over.
Despite FINALLY putting an end to her contentious divorce back in July 2016, the Real Housewives of New York vet is now suing the lawyers who once represented her and her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, for $2 million. But why?
According to Miz Frankel’s lawsuit, back in 2011, the Bravolebrity purchased a $5 million condo in NYC. During her marriage to Hoppy, the businessman suggested Bethenny place the residence in a trust and, although the 46-year-old was against the idea, she had their lawyers move forward with the financial plan. Red flag number one, right?
Apparently the trust her lawyers set up gave Jason a 50% interest in the property — a fact the reality TV star didn’t learn until after the divorce papers were filed. To make matters worse, this filing snafu made it so her baby daddy had a right to reside in the condo and NOT pay any rent. Obviously, this fact made Frankel’s divorce messier than it already was as it took three years to hash out. Eek!
We hope this particular legal matter gets resolved quickly for the Skinnygirl founder. Good luck, girl!
