At least we still have Fuller House…

Over the past week, Girl Meets World fans have been pulled along on an emotional rollercoaster over whether or not the sitcom would be renewed for another season.

A few days after Rider Strong sparked rumors of the show’s cancelation, the Disney Channel series’ writers officially revealed the Boy Meets World spin-off would be meeting its end later this month!

In a series of posts on Twitter, the writers made the sad announcement on Wednesday, writing:

That’s it!? We don’t even get a talk from Mr. Feeny to get us through this trauma?

Unsurprisingly, fans are upset over the cancelation of the sitcom — which was extremely compelling and poignant by Disney standards — but no one is more stunned by the show’s end than the cast.

Series lead Rowan Blanchard took to Instagram to express how she was feeling about the future, saying:

“I have tried to go in and write this many times in preparation for this moment that I feared might come. I will never be able to put into words my gratitude for Michael Jacobs, the creator of our world, for bring us together├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥by all, I mean us and you.”

The 15-year-old actress then directly addressed the audience, thanking them for their undying support and love, adding:

“You have given us so much, you give so much, and for that we genuinely will never be able to repay you. Thank you for the parents who brought your kids to our shows, thank you to the kids for watching us. There is so much power in an audience that goes unsaid. Everything we did was in effort to give you the lessons we thought you deserved, that we knew you needed.”

Will Friedle, who played Eric Matthews in both GMW and BMW, echoed the sentiments of his TV niece, sharing a short-but-sweet message on Twitter, tweeting:

Awwww.

Not to be outdone, Sabrina Carpenter, who plays Rowan’s on-screen BFF, also shared her thoughts on IG — quoting the late filmmaker Federico Fellini:

“There is no end. There is no beginning. There is only the infinite passion of life.”

Wow, these teens are deep! While we’re sad to see such a heartwarming show leave the small screen, we’re sure its stars have a bright future ahead of them.

Girl Meets World returns for its final three episodes on Friday, January 6 — with a one-hour special at 6 p.m. EST on Disney Channel.

The last time I had in n out burger and didn’t eat it, I had just been cast in a show called girl meets world! Tonight I sit here and I can’t eat my in n out burger because life comes full circle. We speak in the language of love, heartbreak, friendship, family, sadness, and laughter. Wherever we are in the world, whatever we believe in, whoever we love, we all speak that language. We had the privilege of growing up in front of your eyes. The privilege of teaching the lessons we were learning ourselves and beyond that. To the family that was created on our set, between the cast and crew, thank you for giving us the ability to make mistakes and to grow. I felt so safe in that bay window. People thought it was weird that I was excited to go to work. People thought it was weird that we really did and still do love each other. That’s a rare entity, we hold that tight. Thank you Disney for giving this show and these characters the chance to see the light of day. I know I feel very lucky to have given life to Maya hart. MJ- without you I wouldn’t know most of what I do. I also probably would have never had 2 paint fights in my lifetime. We live in an intricate world. We can be adversaries whilst being allies. To everyone that watched our show and felt something, thank you. To everyone that grew up watching Boy Meets World and decided to give our story for a new generation a chance, thank you. And to the little girls reading this, You can do whatever you put your mind to. You’re gonna meet the world now, and I think you’ll love it. “There is no end. There is no beginning. There is only the infinite passion of life.” – FelliniA photo posted by Sabrina Carpenter (@sabrinacarpenter) on Jan 5, 2017 at 12:07am PST
