Donald Trump Takes Back His Biggest Campaign Promise — Now He Wants The U.S. To Pay For The Wall On The Mexico Border!

no title

Do you think those Trump supporters feel duped NOW??

Since becoming the President-elect of the United States not even two full months ago, Donald Trump has actively been going back on the very controversial — and flat-out insane — promises he made to his faithful followers.

But even we didn’t expect the racist Republican to backpedal on his MOST infamous issue!

Believe it or not, CNN is reporting that House Republican officials have said that the reality star isn’t planning on making Mexico pay up-front for that border wall like he had passionately proposed.

Instead, they explained the 70-year-old actually told leaders in Congress that he was hoping to use their appropriations funding process to raise the money to build the barrier.

That basically means he wants the American people to pay for the construction through the federal funding process… which goes DIRECTLY against his wall’s biggest selling point.

Plus, officials say he wants to start the process as soon as this April. Happy 2017, everyone!

But on Friday, Trump took to Twitter — duh — to explain that this is all totally cool, because Mexico’s going to pay the US back for the expenses eventually, posting:

Wait… Is he actually calling this barrier the “Great Wall”?

Anyway, New York Representative Chris Collins doesn’t seem to think Donald will have any issues getting Mexico to reimburse American taxpayers, telling CNN:

“When you understand that Mexico’s economy is dependent upon US consumers, Donald Trump has all the cards he needs to play. On the trade negotiation side, I don’t think it’s that difficult for Donald Trump to convince Mexico that it’s in their best interest to reimburse us for building the wall.”
