Alexis Bledel Dishes On Whether We Should Expect More Gilmore Girls In The Near Future

Appearing Saturday on a panel at the Television Critics Association winter press tour to discuss one of her upcoming projects, Alexis Bledel spilled (some of) the beans on Gilmore Girls!

The actress, there to talk about her new Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale, was asked about the future of the beloved Gilmore Girls franchise, especially after the wild success it had with its A Year In The Life revival!

Responding when asked by fellow reporters on the panel, Bledel said of the show — and the re-boot:

“We want to tell a great story. [A Year in the Life] came together so naturally in a way. We had the fan reunion in Austin and we picked up momentum from there and it came together so quickly and it really seemed like the right thing. I think most of us are just wanting to tell a good story and I think that came together in A Year in the Life. The only thing I can say about a future installment of the show is it would be about the story and certainly the timing.”

But the key here is what came next, with Bledel revealing more about whether they’ll continue to film more seasons or episodes to deal with everything that went down during the re-boot:

“I haven’t heard anything. It hasn’t been a conversation as of yet.”

Hmmm!!! As you know (spoiler alert if you don’t) there’s a pregnancy to deal with on this show!!!

Bledel was asked about that, too, and dished about who the father might be — or whether it might be important to name him at all:

“It all lives in Amy [Sherman-Palladino]’s imagination. She has a very clear vision and always has, and we haven’t had input as to the story or the characters on that show very much. On Year in the Life, we did a little bit more than the original run of the show, but it really is all Amy.”

And there you have it.

So… maybe some more Gilmore Girls in the future, but maybe not?!

What do U think, Perezcious readers?! Do you want more??

Sound off in the comments (below)!!
