‘Proud & Sad’ Joely Fisher Responds To Carrie Fisher & Debbie Reynolds’ Golden Globes Tribute

Joely Fisher is opening up about the Golden Globesemotional tribute to Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.

Speaking to ET at the HBO after-party, the 49-year-old said of the occasion:

“[The Golden Globes] are honoring best of performances of the year, and the best in life. I’m proud, and sad, and feeling the same sort of chasm on the planet that everybody else is.”

Of her decision to attend, Carrie’s half-sister said:

“I decided to make it out of my house today to [honor] my girls. I’m gonna go celebrate the ladies.”

As you may have seen at the end of Meryl Streep‘s amazing acceptance speech after being presented with the Cecil B. DeMille award, the actress quoted:

“As my friend, the dear, departed Princess Leia, said to me once, ‘Take your broken heart and make it into art.’ Thank you.”

Joely reacted to the outlet:

“That’s an incredible line, it’s an incredible thought. I hope that we’re all able to do that.”
