Well, at least, they’ve agreed on something.
While we knew Angelina Jolie supported Brad Pitt‘s latest request to have their divorce and custody docs sealed, it seems as though the former flames have made it official. Yup, on Monday, Brangelina revealed that they’ll be taking their contentious divorce to a private forum. Well, well!
In a joint statement, the former power house couple explained:
“The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues. The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.”
Couldn’t they have just done this from the beginning? We mean, both sides have taken plenty of shots in the press so far.
As you may recall, fans were left shocked when Angie filed for divorce from the Fight Club actor back in September. Shortly after the duo’s split hit the press, the Allied star came under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Children and Family Services for an allegedly abusive incident on a private plane involving his son, Maddox. Pitt has since been cleared by both organizations.
Nonetheless, the twosome have gone head-to-head over the custody of their six kids — despite their temporary custody agreement.
Ever since all of this drama went down, the famous family has been attending group therapy sessions. We can only imagine the Jolie-Pitt clan’s shrink suggested the parents start playing nice in court for the sake of their kids. Just a guess…
