Bella Thorne is one of Hollywood’s brightest up-and-comers, but even she deals with her fair share of bullies.

As you may recall, Miz Thorne recently faced A LOT of heat for her alleged love triangle drama with former flame Tyler Posey and close pal Charlie Puth. Not to mention, prior to this particular drama, the 19-year-old made headlines when she split from longtime beau Gregg Sulkin and then almost immediately started dating the Teen Wolf hottie.

So, obviously, the Disney Channel alum has been grappling with how to deal with the negative attention she’s received from internet trolls. During a candid chat with People, The Duff actress revealed:

“I went through a breakup and that was kind of tough. You know, fans, if you’re just seen with somebody, they think you’re immediately, you gotta be in a relationship with them. Which is not true. I hang out all the time with different people that I’m not dating, that I’m just friends with. I hang out with a lot of guys because I’m a total tomboy. So a lot of my friends end up being guys because a lot of girls are like kind of too girly for me sometimes.”

And while the It-girl is in a “happier place” these days, the harassment she faced during one of her high profile breakups certainly had an affect. She continued:

“People take social media as such a big thing. And they all think they know what they’re talking about. And they think they know your life and they get their friends to trash you. And they get all these people to hate on you and call you whatever names in the book. It’s kind of like one person says it and then everybody jumps on it.”

Poor thing. To make matters worse, the natural redhead received “death threats” amid accusations she had cheated on one of her exes. Bella clarified:

“[I] was getting death threats for a hot minute because they thought I had cheated on my ex, which is a total lie.”

That is absolutely disgusting! In regards to how she first felt when receiving all the online hate, the former child star explained:

“When I woke up that morning ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ it f*cking sucks. It doesn’t feel good to think that everybody in the world just thinks you’re an absolutely disgusting person and just because I’m somebody where people know my name, it’s so much worse for me.”

And for all of you who think your negative comments are simply lost out in cyberspace, you’re wrong, as Bella made it clear she sees what her haters are saying about her! Thorne snapped:

“And people think that, like, we don’t get bullied in Hollywood ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ but we do! We get bullied by the public eye and fans and it’s really, let me tell you, it f*cking hurts. You think that I’m not seeing these comments, but I do see them. And it doesn’t feel good. Especially when they’re lies! Then I’m, like, really hurt. At least if it was true, I would be like, ├óΓé¼╦£all right, all right, all right, okay.’ But, it’s not!”

Preach, girl. The one good thing to come out of this bad experience is that Bella’s now raising awareness against online bullies. In fact, she even made sure to advise fans to always stick up for themselves.
