Leave it to the Obamas to have us in tears.
After President Barack Obama made his formal farewell address in Chicago on Tuesday evening, his wife Michelle Obama took to Instagram to reflect on her man’s emotional speech. Alright, folks, get your tissue boxes ready.
Alongside a sweet family pic, the always eloquent FLOTUS wrote:
So proud of POTUS and all that we’ve accomplished together. What an incredible journey filled with remarkable people. I love you Barack. -mo├óΓé¼┼╜├óΓé¼┼╜A photo posted by First Lady Michelle Obama (@michelleobama) on Jan 10, 2017 at 7:39pm PST
Awwwww! Talk about powerhouse couple goals.
Nonetheless, Mrs. Obama wasn’t the only celeb to react to Barack’s inspiring words as countless A-listers took to Twitter to praise the beloved Democrat — including Kerry Washington, Ellen DeGeneres, and many more.
In fact, this gush-worthy post came shortly after POTUS thanked his lady personally for taking on “a role [she] didn’t ask for.” The outgoing president noted:
“For the past twenty-five years, you’ve been not only my wife and mother of my children, but my best friend… You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody. And a new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model. You’ve made me proud. You’ve made the country proud.”
We hope Barack and Michelle enjoy their finals days as President and First Lady. We’ll miss you guys!
