Watch Jennifer Holliday Try To Defend Performing At Donald Trump’s Inauguration AND Canceling On The View…

For someone so talented, she sure is tone deaf…

Jennifer Holliday may be both a black woman and a gay icon, but that didn’t stop her from originally agreeing to perform for Donald Trump and his merry band of bigots at his inauguration this Friday.

Luckily for the original Dreamgirl, the Internet QUICKLY set her straight about how bad an idea that was given the President-elect’s blatant history of racism, sexism, and homophobia — so now she’s making her media rounds to share her side of the story!

Unfortunately for her, though… it’s not helping.

The Tony and Grammy-winner stopped by The View Tuesday morning to discuss both her initial booking and subsequent cancelation, much to the confusion of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Jedediah Bila, and Sara Haines.

Seriously — Jennifer’s excuse for even taking the job in the first place was she wasn’t aware of America’s current social climate, saying:

“[I said ‘Yes’] because I’m an artist and I love America! It didn’t dawn on me that this was a bad thing… It was my honest desire that my voice could be used as an instrument of healing and unity.”

How is that even remotely possible??

With that said, we’re very proud of her for making the right decision in the end… and we hope those awful people who sent her death threats realize how much more in common they have with Donald than they think.
