Be Careful How You Criticize Trump — This Burlesque Dancer’s Tweet Crossed The Line!

no title

Even WE admit this is too far…

While we agree with calling Donald Trump out on his shit, it is NOT acceptable (or legal!) to suggest violence against the POTUS… even if you’re joking, there can be serious consequences!

Take burlesque dancer Heather Lowrey for example.

The self-proclaimed “Louisville vixen” and “aspiring WWE diva” is facing some intense backlash after she took to Twitter last week saying it would be “kind” for someone to assassinate the newly-inaugurated President.

And now she’s jobless and is being investigated by the Secret Service! Yikes!

The tweet sent on January 17 from her since-deleted profile read:

“If someone was cruel enough to assassinate MLK, maybe someone will be kind enough to assassinate Trump. #bekind #trump #lovetrumpshate.”

Something tells us Miz Lowrey doesn’t really understand the “Love Trumps Hate” message…

It didn’t take long for Heather’s employers to separate themselves from the drama by firing the performer.

Va Va Vixens burlesque group said in a statement:

“Please, know that we, at Va Va Vixens, do not condone the behavior of Heather Lowrey. She was dismissed the moment we were informed of this incident. We have a zero tolerance policy for such. It’s no secret that we are in the midst of a divided nation. With so much hate and anger in the world, our hope is to be a sanctuary that welcomes all walks of life with open arms. We do not condone hate by any party and will not partake in it. We in no way support negative behavior or malicious intent from anyone.”

Insurance company American Income Life – Travis Moody Office announced on Facebook:

“Heather Lowrey is no longer contracted with the Travis Moody Agency. The Travis Moody Agency, its agents and its staff do not share the same views, nor opinions as Heather Lowrey. We have a zero tolerance policy and would never condone this behavior.”

And lastly, Heyman Talent Agency posted on Twitter:

“Heather Lowrey is no longer contracted with the Heyman Talent Agency. Our company does not share the same views, nor opinions as Heather Lowrey. We would never condone this behavior and have zero tolerance for hatred and negativity.”

Not surprisingly, the U.S. Secret Service jumped on the situation, reportedly interviewing Lowrey and investigating the matter further.

According to the Courier-Journal, an agent said:

“Any time threatening communications like that are made, we always conduct an investigation.”

Fair enough.

Everyone take this as a lesson — when doing everything you can to get this horrible man impeached, make sure you’re not crossing the line into inciting violence. Even in jest.

Happy peaceful protesting, Perezcious readers!
