Not again.

Facebook Live has proven to be a useful social media feature; it has also given users a new window to commit disturbing acts.

A 14-year-old girl live streamed her suicide on the social media site on Sunday from the bathroom of her Miami area foster home.

According to authorities, Nakia Venant (above) broadcasted herself making a homemade noose from her scarf and attached it to the shower door frame to hang herself. The live feed then abruptly ended.

One of Venant’s friends told the Miami Herald she saw the livestream and notified police, giving them an address in Miami.

When officers arrived at the Miami address, residents there gave the address of the foster home where the girl lived.

Police found the girl hanging upon entering the scene and tried to revive her. She was declared dead a short time later at a local hospital.

Officials with the Florida Department of Children & Families gave little detail on the suicide, other than to confirm welfare administrators and local police were investigating.

Department secretary Mike Carroll promised a “comprehensive” review to examine the child’s history, saying in a statement:

“We are absolutely horrified and devastated by the news of this young girl’s death.”

Our hearts break for this young girl and her loved ones. We shudder to think this won’t be the last horrible incident broadcasted on Facebook Live.
