Just when you think the drama is over…
Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have been in the middle of heated a custody battle over their son Julian in the past few weeks, and it looks like the claws are coming out right when we thought things were cooling down.
The Baggage Claim actress accused the Blurred Lines singer of excessively speaking their 6-year-old boy, but Thicke was cleared of the abuse allegations with the court ruling that Patton could not limit his parental visits.
After reporting that the contentious parents were attending family therapy and focusing on Julian’s best interests, we thought this court battle was nearing its end.
But on Thursday, things got dicey once again when a judge temporarily took custody away from Robin completely!
TMZ reported that the 39-year-old musician is not allowed to go near his child or ex-wife after BOTH parents rushed to an L.A. courtroom, each asking for complete temporary sole custody of the child.
Robin was reportedly shut down by the judge and issued a domestic violence restraining order Paula requested, in which the hitmaker must stay clear of his son, the actress, and her mother. Wow.
Though Paula isn’t totally in the clear, either.
According to Robin’s lawyer, the thespian is being investigated by the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services for emotional abuse!
Robin submitted a declaration from his lawyer, telling the judge they were notified by the DCFS that they would be closing the investigation into Robin because the allegations were “unfounded.”
However, Paula’s investigation for “emotional abuse” — which involves allegations that she intentionally tried to alienate Julian from his father — is still wide open!
As for why Paula filed a domestic violence restraining order, insiders say her decision was triggered when Robin went to her house to pick up Julian for a scheduled visit, and allegedly started banging on the door when she wouldn’t open it. Yeesh.
What a dramatic twist! For Julian’s sake, we hope this all ends soon.
