UPDATE 8:05 P.M. EST: Lena’s quote had originally been transcribed incorrectly. Here’s what she really said:
“I think that young woman├óΓé¼┬ª it’s so hard. I think about the relationships that I had in my early twenties and if they had been public, it would’ve been a disaster. And also, I mean, not to repeat age-old feminist points, but it’s like you know, any male actor her age who’s going out and dating is applauded and to just have a perfectly normal amount of romantic partners but be held to impossibly high standards by the press, like it’s just an unfair and unwinnable game.”
While Taylor Swift has come under a lot of scrutiny since the #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty this past summer, it’s clear Lena Dunham still has her girl’s back!
Speaking to Howard Stern on his radio show on Monday, the actress defended her bestie and her highly-criticized love life.
As you may remember, the songstress was most recently linked to Tom Hiddleston shortly after her split from Calvin Harris, but as the Girls starlet explained, Taylor doesn’t deserve all the hate for it:
“I think about the relationships I had in my early 20s. At her age she is going out and dating, is applauded and just has a perfectly normal amount of romantic partners. But to be held to impossibly high standards by the press, it is just an unfair and unwinnable game.”
You know, just a friendly reminder to the public!
Do U agree with Lena?? Or do U think this is just what Swifty signed up for?
