Someone’s definitely backtracking!
After calling out the media for not properly covering the Bowling Green massacre (a horrible tragedy that never actually happened), White House adviser Kellyanne Conway stopped by CNN‘s The Lead with Jake Tapper on Tuesday in order to apologize for the huge blunder. Oh, and the Queen of Alternative Facts also FINALLY admitted that not all mainstream media should be called “fake news.”
Glad to see Conway is (kind of) opening her eyes to the truth! The political figure stated:
“I don’t think CNN is ‘fake news.’ I think there are some reports everywhere, in print, on TV, on radio, in conversation, that are not well-researched and are sometimes based on falsehoods.”
Again, Kellyanne, you were the one who defended Donald Trump‘s immigration ban by citing a crime that NEVER HAPPENED. Nonetheless, the 50-year-old said she “regretted tremendously” her war against the press over the false BGM. POTUS’s trusted adviser claims she’s now “trying to reach out” to the media and “put out the olive branch.”
Huh. We’re not sure many people are going to take her up on that offer. Why? Well, because Drumpf and those closest to him haven’t backed down on calling publications, such as The New York Times and The Washington Post, “fake news.” And, clearly, the Trump administration isn’t too upset about their recent factual hiccups as Conway even tried to defend:
“Are they (falsehoods) more important than the many things that he says that are true that are making a difference in people’s lives?”
Ummmmm, y’all are lying. This isn’t just fabricating the inauguration numbers, the administration straight up defended an unconstitutional immigration ban by citing a fake crime. We think it’s important to hold the WHITE HOUSE to a higher standard!
Thankfully, the show’s host didn’t back down from grilling Kellyanne as he called out the president’s MANY falsehoods. Specifically, Tapper addressed Trump’s inaccurate statements about the American murder rate and the media’s coverage of various terrorist attacks.
After saying it’d be better if the attacks on the press stopped coming from the White House, the Commander-In-Chief’s lackey retorted:
“Agreed, and let me just say it has to go both ways. I do, Jake, I sincerely don’t see a lot of difference in coverage from when he was a candidate and when he became the Republican nominee, the president-elect and, indeed the President.”
BECAUSE HE HAS ACTED THE SAME WAY SINCE BEING CANDIDATE TO NOMINEE TO PREZ. Smh.
In fact, when Jake noted that Donald had not commented on the upsetting shooting in Quebec where six Muslims were murdered, the mother-of-two stated:
“I know he’s sympathetic to any loss of life. I will ask him. He doesn’t tweet about everything.”
If Trump can make time to tweet about The Celebrity Apprentice, we think he could take to Twitter and write a post about a tragedy in a our neighboring country. While we respect Kellyanne’s attempt to spin the truth, we think she’s just in a bit over her head…
