50 Cent won’t be collaborating with his son anytime soon.
On Tuesday, the Candy Shop rapper’s son, Marquise Jackson, revealed he isn’t a big fan of his poppa’s music. In fact, the up-and-comer said the A-lister’s music hasn’t been “good lately.”
“I don’t know. His music hasn’t been too good lately. That’s just being honest, that’s my opinion… I don’t know if people just hold him to a higher standard than usual, but I don’t think his music has been too good lately.”
And it seems Marquise is really trying to distance himself from Fiddy as he said his new music is a way for him to “escape” from his father’s shadow. He added:
“It’s about me escaping from different relationships in my life, whether its female or family members…I felt like there was no better way for me to introduce myself, let people know this is me, this is what I’m doing; there was nobody else behind this – not my father behind this; this is me.”
Still, Marquise isn’t really being successful at distancing himself from the In Da Club artist, since he seemingly disses his dad in one of his songs. One line from the young Mr. Jackson’s trac Different states:
“Lost my pops, he’s still alive.”
Eek! Nonetheless, the Hip Hop scion is VEHEMENT the line isn’t meant to be a diss to his icon of a father. In case you forgot, Fiddy and his flesh-and-blood have been pretty estranged since Marquise was 10-years-old. Nevertheless, he continued:
“This is not a diss to my father at all. I think they want it to be a diss, people are making it a diss because they want it to be a diss. But it’s not, it’s what goes on in my life.”
Ummm, whatever you say, man! Regardless, we’re eager to see what Marquise is able to bring to the table music-wise in the future.
