Celebs React To Trump’s National Security Adviser Resigning Over Sketchy Phone Calls With Russia!

Donald Trump‘s lies about his ties to Russia and Vladimir Putin have been the greatest hits on his album of alternative facts since the beginning of his campaign.

But now, his White House administration of paper dolls from the 1950s is already falling apart by the seams as some sketchy plans have been exposed.

On Monday, the White House’s national security adviser Michael Flynn resigned over — surprise, surprise — illegal phone calls with Russia!

Top officials issued a public denial of reports that Flynn had discussed the sanctions imposed on the Kremlin by Barack Obama over Russia’s efforts to influence the U.S. election in Trump’s favor — but apparently, that’s exactly what went down!

Flynn admitted to not only discussing sanctions with a Russian ambassador over the phone, but misleading Vice President Mike Pence about the contents of the conversation.

Though he was working for the Trump transition team at the time, Flynn was a private citizen when he made the questionable phone call, making it illegal to hash out government policy.

In a resignation letter released by the White House, the former adviser said:

“Unfortunately, because of the fast pace of events, I inadvertently briefed the vice president-elect and others with incomplete information regarding my phone calls with the Russian ambassador. I have sincerely apologized to the president and the vice president, and they have accepted my apology.”

After White House officials denied reports of such conversations taking place, Flynn confessed that the issue of sanctions may have come up — making it clear he’s either being extra sneaky or in the early stages of dementia.

Trump tapped retired Lt. Gen. Joseph Keith Kellogg Jr. to serve as acting adviser in his place, but Democrats still want to know who else in the White House was privy to these conversations about sanctions.

The scariest part is, the Justice Department had warned the White House weeks ago about Flynn’s conversations — but that only led to the firing of same minded attorney generals instead of sketchy deal makers.

Aware of the conversations or not, Trump’s latest administrative scandal got a big reaction from critics — especially from his vocal opposers in Hollywood.

Judd Apatow, Bette Midler, Billy Eichner and more celebs were quick to weigh in on the shakeup on Twitter. See the best reactions (below)!
