As if we didn’t really want to see this already, this news just made us MORE excited about the Lion King remake!!
Director Jon Favreau took to Twitter on Friday night to share his choices for some key roles in the film remake, and his picks have us all KINDS of excited — Donald Glover and James Earl Jones, come on down!!!
Favreau announced through his tweets that Jones — who voiced the role of Mufasa in the original Disney film back in 1994 — is going to return as the same character, which is SO perfect! Who could adequately capture Mufasa but for Jones with his incredible, villainous voice?!
And as for Glover, well, he’s got the best part in the film… Favreau has cast him as Simba!!!
Here’s how Favreau announced all the news — short, simple, and to the point (below):
Perfectly announced, and if we do say so ourselves, perfectly cast.
We can NOT wait to see this remake!!!
Well done all around, guys!
